Project Safety Rules - There are many rules regarding safety before and during experimentation. Please guide the student through the ISEF Rules Wizard and review general safety rules before starting a project. In addition, there are rules regarding displays at the fair. Every school is required to have a Institutional Review Board (IRB) to review projects involving human subjects. For more information go to the Do's and Don'ts section or visit the ISEF website for detailed instructions

Science Fair Educator Workshops
Science Fair workshops are offered between September and November 2013 for schools, complexes, and districts throughout the state. Workshops cover rules, forms, and procedures for science fairs and are recommended for all interested educators. Contact your school, district, or state coordinator to schedule a workshop.

Looking for a Mentor for a Student?
The Academy may be able to find mentors for students. Contact the Academy and please submit the student's question, hypothesis, research plan and any other information to help the potential mentor understand the experiment and what type of help is needed. Background information about the student may also be included, i.e. age. We will do our best to help you find an available mentor in your student's field of study.
Entering a District Fair
Find your district fair director using the District Fair Contact List. The director can help you get in touch with an SRC board member to review your students' project idea before you begin work. You'll also need to direct your students to the correct forms for entering a project into the fair. Project submissions will fall under one of the following: Senior Research, Junior Research and Junior Display. CLICK HERE to view the required forms.
School Visitation at HSSEF
Teachers and schools are encouraged to bring their students (grades 5 and up) to the Hawai'i Science and Engineering Fair at the Hawai'i Convention Center on Wednesday, April 2, 2014.
