2013-2014 Poster Theme: MATHEMATICS
Encouraging students to think artistically about science and engineering is the main goal of the Hawai‘i State Science and Engineering Fair Poster and Cover Contest. Any public or private school student, grades 6-12, may submit one self-designed (original) poster.
2013 Poster and Cover Contest Winner: The first place winner of the 2013 Poster and Cover Contest was Opua Kia of Kamehameha Schools. She received $300 and her design will be featured on the State Science Fair Program Cover in March 2014. Her teacher Jim Dong also received a prize.
The second place winner, Riley Yoshihara of Highlands Intermediate School, was awarded $200. His teacher, Kathy Lin also received a prize.
The third place winner, Isaac Badua of Kapolei Middle School, won $100. Teacher, Daryle Mishina also received a prize
Each of the following Honorable Mention winners won $50: Grades 10-12: Caytlin Yoshioka, Mililani High School; Grades 8-9: Megan Taguchi, Stevenson Middle School; Grades 6-7: Remi Jose, Stevenson Middle School.
