About the Fair
The Hawai'i State Science and Engineering Fair (HSSEF) is the culminating event that stimulates interest in science and encourages student entry into a science related career. Students have the opportunity to interact with professional scientists and engineers at the event where excellence of student achievement is recognized and rewarded.
HSSEF is the oldest and largest science fair held in Hawai'i. Over 7,000 students participate statewide in the science fair program each year with about 500 advancing to the HSSEF. The state fair is truly a collaborative effort and happens with the dedication of hundreds of volunteers, local and national sponsors, and the Hawai'i science community.
